DRC Access Mode: Invite Only
Invite Only is the most controlled DRC access mode. Only the specific readers you personally invite can see and access a title set to Invite Only. No one else knows it exists, and the title cannot be discovered in the DRC browse page.
What is Invite Only?
When a DRC is set to Invite Only, it is invisible to all readers browsing the DRC catalog. There is no public badge, no listing, and no way to discover or request access. Only readers who receive a direct invitation from you can open and access the file.
This is a closed, curated experience. You control the list entirely.
Setting up the DRC
- From the Manage DRCs page, create or edit a DRC listing.
- Set the Access Mode to Invite Only.
- Add at least one contact’s email.
- Save. The DRC is now only available and accessible to users specifically invited.
Building the invite list
- Open the DRC's detail page in Manage DRCs and navigate to the Access section.
- Add user’s email addresses.
- Invited readers receive an email notification with a direct link to access the DRC. They do not need to request access; the invite grants access immediately.
Managing the list
- To remove someone, go to the Access section Manage DRC tab and delete the name and email address of the user you want.
- You can add new invitees at any time.
What readers see
An invited reader receives an email from Covered with an email with a direct link to the DRC. When they follow the link, they land on the title's DRC page where they can read the DRC immediately in the Covered reader or access it on the Covered app.
Readers who have not been invited see nothing. The title does not appear in DRC search results or any browse view.
